A RESOLUTION TO DECLARE THE MISSOURI STUDENTS ASSOCIATION HAS THE AUTHORITY TO ENDORSE GOVERNMENT ELECTED OFFICIALS

PURPOSE: To state that the Missouri Students Association hereby has the authority to endorse government elected officials.

WHEREAS, the Missouri Students Association has no clear stance on endorsements; AND

WHEREAS, endorsements provide a candidate that the Missouri Students Association believes best represents student opinion; AND

WHEREAS, the Missouri Students Association has the responsibility of educating its’ constituents before selecting a candidate to endorse

WHEREAS, ties with government officials and the University of Missouri may be negatively or positively impacted as a result of said endorsement; AND

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MISSOURI STUDENTS ASSOCIATION SENATE that the Missouri Students Association garners the authority of endorsing government elected officials.
