PURPOSE: To establish the student’s support for the creation of an Honor Code within the University of Missouri Columbia.

WHEREAS: the University of Missouri does not have a clear and established Honor Code ; AND

WHEREAS: a clearly established honor code for students, faculty, and staff will educate, enhance, and protect members of the University of Missouri community ; AND

WHEREAS: numerous other SEC schools have honor codes that are focused on intolerance for lying, cheating, and stealing, such as Texas A&M University ; AND

WHEREAS: individual colleges on the University of Missouri campus such as the Law School, the Vet School, and the School of Public Affairs have their own honor codes.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MISSOURI STUDENTS ASSOCIATION SENATE that conversation between administration and students and MSA Senate be had regarding the possible creation of an academic honor code.
