AN ACT TO ESTABLISH THE WORDING OF A REFERENDUM ON THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI STUDENT FEE

PURPOSE:  To establish the wording of a referendum on the existence of a student fee for the Associated Students of the University of Missouri
WHEREAS, Bill 53-7 established a referendum on the Associated Students of the University of Missouri student fee; and
WHEREAS, the wording of said referendum shall be established as such in this bill.

THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE MISSOURI STUDENTS ASSOCIATION SENATE that the wording for the ASUM student fee referendum on the Fall 2013 ballot as administered by the Board of Election Commissioners be as follows:

Shall the students of the University of Missouri at Columbia continue to assess themselves in the amount of $0.50 per semester to support to the Associated Students of the University of Missouri?ASUM´s mission is to advocate and lobby for student interests while educating students on the importance of involvement in government. ASUM lobbies of behalf of UM student interests and provides meaningful student leadership and hands-on learning experiences in the area of policy development, higher education concerns and processes, and day to day operations of state and federal government.
If approved, the fee will continue in Fiscal Year 2015 and will have to be approved every 4 years by the student body.
