AN OMNIBUS ACT TO AMEND THE BYLAWS & RULES OF SENATE

 PURPOSE:  To amend several clear conflicts in the bylaws and rules of senate.
WHEREAS, the President ought not be a senator; AND
WHEREAS, the bylaws reference a senate rule improperly; AND
WHEREAS, Senate has always required two signatures before legislation be brought before Senate; AND
WHEREAS, such a requirement is not currently expressed in the bylaws, Senate Rules, or constitution; AND
WHEREAS, the supreme court justice ought not be a senator.

THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE MISSOURI STUDENTS ASSOCIATION SENATE that chapter 2 be amended to read as follows in the bylaws:

Chapter II
2.40 (D) REQUIREMENTS – All senators must be a current member of the association. No member shall also serve a paid position on executive cabinet or student court.

2.90 (A) (1) TRIAL – The impeachment trail trial shall be operated as  prescribed  described in Rule 18 16.

THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER ENACTED BY THE MISSOURI STUDENTS ASSOCIATION HERE ASSEMBLED that the Rules of Senate be amended to add the following upon passage of this act:

Rule 19: SIGNATURES– All legislation must have two senator signatures in order to be brought before committee.

THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER ENACTED BY THE MISSOURI STUDENTS ASSOCIATION SENATE that chapter 1 be amended to read as follows in the bylaws:

1.90 (A) (1) TRIAL – The impeachment trail trial shall be operated as prescribed  described in Rule 18 16.
