A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MORE EFFICIENT ACCESSIBILITY OF ALL ESTABLISHMENTS DOWNTOWN

PURPOSE: To encourage the Missouri Students Association to support the expansion of accessibly downtown for people with disabilities, in particular accommodations for the vision-impaired and individuals who use wheelchairs.

WHEREAS, There is a three step process in place that fails to deliver accountability of businesses and business owners; AND

WHEREAS, The city of Columbia has not produced physical evidence in compliance with accessibility doctrines; AND

WHEREAS, we believe this problem is easily remedied by demanding a more inclusive environment in downtown Columbia.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MISSOURI STUDENTS ASSOCIATION SENATE that the Missouri Students Association supports the implementation of more efficient accessibility of all establishments downtown.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, if passed, will be given to city officials and business owners whose establishments are not currently accessible.
