A RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENT OF STUDENT ACTIVITIES IN BRING A HOMECOMING CONCERT TO CAMPUS

PURPOSE: To gain support of the Missouri Students Association senators for the first annual Homecoming Concert to create unity and inclusion on campus.

WHEREAS, it is the mission of the Department of Student Activities to provide safe and relevant events catered towards the interests of undergraduate students at the University of Missouri; AND

WHEREAS, the Homecoming tradition is a fundamental part of the Mizzou student experience; AND

WHEREAS, there is an opportunity for the Missouri Students Association to serve the diverse needs of the student body by organizing an all-inclusive concert on October 26, 2012 at 9:30 pm on Rollins Street; AND

WHEREAS, the funds to support such a concert have already been donated by the Mizzou Alumni Association.

THEREFORE BEIT RESOLVED BY THE MISSOURI STUDENTS ASSOCIATION SENATE that the Senate supportsthe Department of Student Activitiesin hosting an annual homecoming concert.
