A Resolution in Support of Decoupling the Information Technology Fee

WHEREAS, the Missouri Students Association has been working with the MU Division of IT since last year to push for reform in the current Information Technology Fee Process, and

WHEREAS, MSA has noticed the large amounts of funds that are carried forward from fiscal year to fiscal year, and

WHEREAS, the MU IT Committee has shown interest in changing the current system-wide fee to a campus-wide fee, and

WHEREAS, there is currently a system set up to track the allocation and decisions of campus student fees, and

WHEREAS, the University of Missouri would benefit from deciding the IT Fee for its own campus infrastructure.

THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Missouri Students Association Senate supports the decoupling of the current System-wide Information Technology Fee, and

THERFORE, be it further resolved that University of Missouri – Kansas City, University of Missouri – St. Louis, and Missouri University of Science and Technology support the decoupling of the current Information Technology Fee, and

THEREFORE, be it further resolved that the University of Missouri Board of Curators change the current Information Technology Fee so it can be decided on a campus to campus basis.
