A Resolution To Increase Breast Cancer Awareness On Campus

WHEREAS, Breast Cancer is the second most common cancer diagnosed and the second leading cause of cancer death for women in the United States, and

WHEREAS, breast cancer death rates have decreased due to increased awareness and improved treatment, and

WHEREAS, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and

WHEREAS, the women of Zeta Tau Alpha greatly support the fight against Breast Cancer by partnering with Yoplait and the Susan G. Komen Foundation, passing out pink ribbons, and  raising money and awareness through their philanthropy Rockin’ for the Ribbon, and

WHEREAS, Campus Facilities has agreed to the possibility of putting pink filters on some lighting fixtures around campus such as the Columns or dome of Jesse Hall.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MISSOURI STUDENTS ASSOCIATION thatwe make it an annual tradition to support Breast Cancer awareness on campus in conjunction with Zeta Tau Alpha and Campus Facilities by turning the campus “pink” the week of Zeta Tau Alpha’s philanthropy (October 4th-10th 2010).
