Bill #49-62

A Recommendation in Favor of Granting an Inflationary Increase for Parking and Transportation Services

Whereas, Parking and Transportation services at the University of Missouri provides shuttle services between campus and the outlying parking lots, as well as between campus and designated off-campus residences to students, and

Whereas, Parking and Transportation services also provides on campus parking opportunities to students by means of parking lots and parking garages, and

Whereas, Parking and Transportation services uses the “parking” portion of the Parking and Transportation fee for bond repayment on campus parking garages and uses the “transportation” portion of the fee to pay for the contract that provides shuttle services for students, and

Whereas, the revenue generated from the “transportation” portion of the fee is $106,210.11 less than the amount required to pay for the contract for shuttle services and related services, and

Whereas, Parking and Transportation services intends to cover the difference needed to pay for the contract for shuttle services with revenue generated from other areas, and

Therefore, be it resolved that the Student Fee Review Committee recommends that  Parking and Transportation services at the University of Missouri receives an inflationary increase not below 0% but no higher than the percentage change in the Consumer Price Index as defined by the Missouri Higher Education Student Funding Act of 2007.

Respectfully Submitted,

The Student Fee Review Committee
