46-34: A Bill to Set an Allocation Price Floor for the Student Fee Capital Improvement Committee

Whereas, the student fee capital improvement committee will see a dramatic increase in funding from the Hearnes Center Student Fee endowment income; and,

 

Whereas, an increase in student fee capital improvement committee allocation monies will correlate with a positive impact on campus; and,

 

Whereas, the increase in funding will only make a significant impact if the student fee capital improvement committee balance remains equal or higher to its current amount; and,

 

Whereas, the student fee review committee recommends the allocation to the student fee capital improvement committee annually; and,

 

Whereas, an allocation floor would prevent future Student Fee Review Committees from seeing the income generated from the endowment as a way to offset student fee capital improvement committee allocations; be it enacted that:

 

Therefore, be it resolved by the Missouri Students Association that the current level of allocation for the student fee capital improvement committee be set as a minimum allocation amount for the next five years, at which point it will be reviewed.

 

Note: This bill is contingent on the creation of the Hearnes Center Fee Endowment Fund.
